Specifications

  1. Base Station: SuperWi-Fi air-to-surface, installed on existing communication towers, top of buildings, hills, water banks and can be mobile in air (airships) or on ground (rugged vehicles);
  2. Networking: Massive SmartDust IoE Nodes can be instantly “painted” or “spread” onto surfaces of buildings, obstructions, floating in air or in water.
  3. Terminals: Airborne to sense and report: ID, positioning, moving conditions and microclimate situations, operators and machine-health status. Can distinguish flying objects among each other, from noisy terrane or ground backgrounds. Making close-loop cognitive sense-decisions. Realtime image-sense, communicate, or taken-over control by remote contingency pilots
  4. Virtual Constraints of Airspace: Like on roads, lanes and ramps to constrain automobiles from 2D area, RAMAS constrains all aircrafts (eVTOLS or eUAV) in a 3D Region, in Channels and on-Grids, to monitor, acquire, streaming black-box flying information. All regional fly objects are constraint staying in course and yielding cross-traffic, on one consolidated telecommunication network.
  5. Networking: LoRa-protocol IoE, realizes self-adapting (automatically in-and-out of network, no IP addresses settings, hand-shaking and data exchange with encryption and authentication), relay-datalink on mesh topology, network can be paved in various ways, in massive-quantity of SmartDust.
  6. Transmission: sub-GHz TVWS, WAN Wi-Fi enables robust and reliable data transmission: HD, high-penetration transmission, non-line-of-sight propagation, lower carrier frequency enables high penetration, long-distance relay and very low EM pollution, with low power-consumption. All are affordable for in massive-manufacture, deployment and operation. SmartDust Components are disposable and natural degradable.
  7. Circuit Design: Event-Driven Logic enables super-low power consumption (can operate in subthreshold region of MOSFET’s), super-tolerant to power supply conditions, network sleep-standby mode-change made possible.
  8. Volume Network: massive quantity of IoE nodes can float in air or water body, to form instant 3D data sensing and modeling. Can be used for surveying incidental microclimate conditions with emergency measurement.

AIEC Team

Mika Nystrom, PhD and Jin Luo, both from Caltech were earlier and continuing inventors and developers of Event-driven Logic and SmartDust IoE, of integration circuits; a USC team is available in Event-driven IC designs. Heng Pan, experienced in UK and Silicon Valley practices in life-time in architect of communication, in form of SoC (system on chip), a TVWS networking developer as CEO and CTO, a LaRa standard expert (the international platform technology is to be licensed from SemTech (US).

AIEC gathered 300+ man-year of expertise in aspects covering all engineering layers of RAMAS hierarchy, and so as the new network’s other applications beyond UAM.

AIEC (AI-IoE Engineering Center), a Swiss partnership entity, is hosting the collective technologies for RAMAS. It is formed in 2021, while the foundation platform technologies was developed earlier and wider, as we prioritized developing RAMAS for growing along with the trendy application of UAM.

Marketing

Choice of the Market Sector: In the greater UAM field, Infrastructure is far less concentration in investment, in comparison to the Aircraft’s sector. But Infrastructure’s buildout will slow down the industry due to its shortage and slowness in local government financing, planning and implementation. Here we choose a light-asset IT infrastructure as a seller’s market, which is universally demanded by overall UAM industry.

  • Among the booming UAM industry, RAMA possesses a greater potential and fewer competition. And it can start with lean and smart capitals.
  • AMA adopts mature and proven technologies, converged existing tech resources, to enable contingent applications of eVTOL Aircraft’s.
  • Face the dynamics: UAM market projection is not easy without historic and present data. But its IT Infrastructure’s is.

Cross Market Sectors

IOT (internet of things) which connect all local networks onto the Internet. The proven steady-growth market sector, is anticipating an exponential onset phasing into IoE (Internet of Everything), the next-generation connects everything onto the Internet. Such innovative suggestion has been brought up by Cisco Systems in 2010s. With enable technologies and innovative approaches, it is the SmartDust (concept-proof by Intel in 2000) that would made it possible. By IoE, the IOT industry and application will expand in orders of magnitudes. In fact, IoE will change traditional IOT’s industrial scope in massive scale. This is a far more promising, sustainable development, if one masters the optimal key technologies.
AIEC’s new AI-IoE (with self-adaptive networking, mesh-topology redundancy and saturated coverage) enters the IOT Market directly into the sector of LPWA (low power wide area), but increase the bandwidth covering audio. In the cart below LPWA (shown in orange color). With AI-IoE’s new contribution, the sector will increase exponentially.

IoE for Infrastructure appications, enters existing IOT market, addressing the LPWA Sector.

AIEC’s new AI-IoE addresses one of the four types of IOT applications: Consumer IoT (CIoT), Commercial IoT, Industrial IoT (IIoT), and Infrastructure IoT. Here the new AI-IoE entered the existing IOT Market, initially for UAM infrastructure (urban aerial mobility), into the sector of Transportation (as shown the purple color in the chart below).
